Home Press Releases Lendio’s Brock Blake Named 2021 CEO of the Year by Utah Business Magazine
Blake is recognized as one of Utah’s top chief executives for outstanding business performance and leadership in a unique and turbulent year
LEHI, Utah—March 17, 2021—Lendio, the nation’s leading marketplace for small business loans, today announced that Brock Blake, CEO and co-founder, has received the prestigious 2021 CEO of the Year recognition from Utah Business magazine.
CEO of the Year honorees are chief executives from organizations and agencies ranging from small to large and public to private. These companies and government agencies provide strong financial leadership, innovation and social responsibility to Utah’s business community.
“These CEOs have not only pulled their company through the hardship of a pandemic, they’ve dedicated themselves to overcoming the challenge and boldly going where no CEO has gone before,” said Utah Business.
Brock Blake and Trent Miskin co-founded Lendio in 2011. The two set out to help the nation’s small business owners get access to capital to operate and grow their businesses. As CEO, Blake played an instrumental role in pivoting the company in the spring of 2020 when business lending came to a standstill at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
With Blake at the helm, Lendio channeled all of its resources into helping small business owners get access to Paycheck Protection Program loans under the CARES Act. Lendio developed a digital PPP application and formed partnerships with hundreds of lending institutions in a matter of weeks. The company has since helped more than 130,000 small business owners access over $9 billion in PPP loan approvals, preserved thousands of small business jobs across the U.S. and added hundreds of temporary employees to its own workforce.
“It is an honor to be selected as one of Utah’s CEOs of the year. This state is home to so many incredible companies with extraordinary leaders,” Blake said. “It’s remarkable what the team at Lendio has accomplished over the last year, and I consider it a true privilege to work alongside such passionate, talented and dedicated people.”
Blake will be recognized at an awards event and luncheon on March 24 at the Grand America Hotel. He is featured in Utah Business magazine’s March issue.
